Some thoughts about Aomine, AoKuro etc after 189Q
I think that what Aomine is saying, more then giving up on Kuroko, is an acknowledgement of Kagami, and the fact that he is, in this moment, a better player than Aomine. We know that stronger is the light, stronger is the shadow, so only the best player can bring out the best of Kuroko. This player atm is Kagami. This is what Aomine is saying, unlike what he said when they first met, when he stated that Kagami wasn’t the right partner for Kuroko.
This is a big character development for Aomine.
But he’s also talking about the present, not the future. Now Kagami is the best player between them, but Aomine is going to be serious from now on, he has now a reason to keep practising (thanks to Kuroko and Kagami).
So yes, Kuroko’s light is Kagami. We all knew this already. And Kuroko’s team is Seirin, neither Touou, nor Teikou. He and all the other guys from Teikou are rivals, they will never play together again.
I always knew this, and that’s why AoKuro (and all the GoM feels) hurts so much.
Oh, and this is something that counts on the court. Outside the court, the person who has always believed in Kuroko, even before he became the 6th man in Teikou, the person who helped him the day after he was badly defeated… That person is always Aomine Daiki. Those things haven’t changed.
I don’t ship them for their future as basketball teammates, because such a future doesn’t exist. I ship them for their bond, for their mutual trust, and because of THIS. This ship is not only about Aomine, but also about Kuroko, and he’s someone who always stays cool, with only an exception: Aomine. When it comes to him Kuroko changes, he shows clearly his emotions, he makes expression like that one in 124Q and he even cries.
That’s why I ship them and it fucking hurts ;___;
(sorry for my horrible english OTL)
